Description:
CareStream Advisory Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller and Coder to join its Revenue Cycle Management team. The successful candidate will have a solid grasp of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems, ensuring compliance and claim accuracy. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and values precision, collaboration, and integrity in their work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for both office and telemedicine encounters.
• Stay updated on payer policies, coding regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Verify that coding practices adhere to federal, state, and payer-specific rules.
• Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to patient questions regarding coverage denials, coding explanations, and resubmissions.
• Support the billing department to minimize claim denials and ensure smooth reimbursement processes.
• Conduct internal coding audits and maintain organized documentation.
• Identify coding trends, potential risks, and suggest process improvements.

Requirements:

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience, preferably in primary care.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Advanced knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
• Proficiency in EHR systems, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Business, Finance, or Health Administration.
• Experience in mental or behavioral health billing.
• Prior experience in a startup or VC-funded healthcare company.
