Description:
The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will work closely with the Senior Financial Planning Analyst to support department budget managers with all aspects of budget management, grant proposal preparation, and financial reporting. This role involves hands-on participation in budgeting, expense tracking, and forecasting to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
This is a full-time remote position that can be performed from any of Sundance Institute’s operating states. The role will require occasional extended hours, including evenings and weekends during critical times of the year, as well as periodic travel to other offices or events.
Position Overview:
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and managing operating expenses across departments.
- Collaborate with budget managers to review and approve Concur expense reports, Visa Intellilink credit card transactions, and accounts payable.
- Prepare monthly reclass journal entries and review forecast data in Adaptive for accuracy.
- Deliver training sessions for new budget managers and provide ongoing financial process support.
- Reconcile grant tracker data monthly and manage in-kind contributed revenue, including annual reporting.
- Serve as the finance lead for specific grant proposals and associated reporting.
- Participate in Profit & Loss (P&L) deep dive meetings and support the annual budget process.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and modeling as requested.
- Assist with monthly closing duties and provide backup for accounts payable preparation.
- Manage tracking of loyalty points (United/Hyatt) and oversee festival charge accounts.
- Verify coding accuracy for all insurance bills and coordinate Sundance Film Festival lodging/vehicle charge-outs.
You Have:
- At least 3 years of directly relevant financial planning or analysis experience.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to audit and ensure accuracy in all work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace tools.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to train and collaborate across teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of NetSuite and Workday Adaptive Planning preferred.
- Experience building and monitoring grant budgets is a plus.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
