Description:
Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. (SEWS) is seeking an experienced Logistics Planner II to join the Warehouse Planning Department (WPD). This remote role supports project management activities tied to warehouse expansions, new construction, and relocations for SEWS facilities across North America, including Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The position requires adherence to corporate policies and procedures, and occasional travel to warehouse locations is expected.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct cost studies and perform space analysis for 5-year warehouse forecasts
• Develop and process benchmark information; create new analysis tools as needed
• Collaborate with external consultants on projects
• Form and coordinate project teams, prepare project scopes, budgets, and approvals
• Lead project management meetings, set standards, and provide weekly/monthly status updates to executive management
• Support budget recommendations and funding approvals, presenting to committees as needed
• Create, review, and maintain process control, lease, and RFQ documents in line with corporate policies
• Prepare and present monthly logistics meeting materials
• Review legal documents and recommend modifications
• Apply Kaizen best practices to optimize project delivery
• Review construction documents and architectural drawings; provide ongoing feedback
• Conduct on-site assessments of proposed locations based on market surveys or requests

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management or logistics, with construction project management exposure
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance regulations
• Relevant certifications in logistics or construction engineering are a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel, Smartsheets, CAD, or similar tools
• Ability to travel periodically
