Description:
A leading Oil & Gas EPC company is seeking an experienced Lifting Engineer / Appointed Person (AP) to support international projects based in Abu Dhabi. This role is suited for professionals with strong technical expertise in lifting operations, crane activities, and heavy lifting safety management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and supervising lifting operations, preparing detailed lifting plans, providing technical guidance to lifting personnel, and ensuring all activities are carried out safely and in compliance with project requirements. Candidates must hold a valid LEEA Appointed Person (AP) Certification and have practical experience in crane and lifting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise lifting operations to ensure safe and efficient execution.
• Prepare, maintain, and regularly update lifting plans and methodologies.
• Provide technical guidance to signallers, slingers, and lifting equipment operators.
• Develop schedules for routine lifting activities and establish procedures for critical lifts.
• Ensure all lifting operations comply with project specifications, safety standards, and site requirements.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with lifting equipment.
• Experience with similar types of cranes and lifting operations.
• Certified and competent Signaller/Slinger from an approved third-party training provider.
• Previous experience in crane operations or supervising lifting activities.
• Site-specific lifting experience and induction training.
• Must hold a valid LEEA Appointed Person (AP) Certification.
• Appointment as an Appointed Person must be formally documented as part of the lifting plan.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Lifting plans and heavy lifting methodologies
• Crane operations and lifting equipment
• Oil & Gas EPC safety standards and lifting regulations
