Description:
Crawford & Company is seeking a dedicated Leave Specialist to administer FMLA policies and support the operational functions of the HR unit. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of handling employee leave requests, providing guidance on policies, and maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist associates with Leave of Absence (LOA) requests and guide them through the process
  • Process LOA paperwork according to established procedures and legal requirements
  • Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries from associates and management
  • Administer and enforce FMLA policy
  • Review FMLA documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Recommend approval or denial of FMLA requests in compliance with federal regulations
  • Conduct FMLA training for supervisors and employees
  • Coordinate correspondence, forms, and documents via the claim system
  • Generate reports and maintain accurate records of all LOA requests
  • Assist management with LOA situations and provide guidance within policy and legal guidelines
  • Maintain compliance with standards and federal/state regulations
  • Serve as internal reference for certification requirements and processing
  • Contact providers for clarification and input/analyze data
  • Support management with special projects as needed
  • Uphold the Crawford Code of Conduct

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2–5 years of experience in FMLA claim administration or related field
  • Experience in integrated disability and absence management industry
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage challenging situations
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize, escalate, and resolve issues effectively
  • Solid understanding of FMLA and employment regulations
  • Commitment to continuing education as outlined by Crawford Educational Services
