About Us
Sparrow builds the first high-tech, high-touch employee leave management platform. Our mission is to simplify leave processes for employers and employees—turning a traditionally slow, error-prone and compliance-heavy experience into an efficient, supportive 30-minute end-to-end workflow. That efficiency saves teams significant time (typically 20–40 hours per leave) and can reduce costs (up to $30K per leave). Headquartered in San Francisco, Sparrow has a remote, distributed team spanning many U.S. states.
About The Role
As a Leave Administrator on our Customer Experience team, you will manage the behind-the-scenes paperwork and communications required to process employee benefit claims. Working closely with our customer-facing colleagues, you’ll ensure claims are complete, accurate, and submitted on time, while contributing to process improvements and helping resolve issues that arise.

- Manage paperwork flow for multiple active leaves, ensuring all required forms and records are tracked and submitted.
- Log and escalate claim issues clearly to appropriate team members.
- Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, switching between priorities without losing accuracy.
- Maintain and improve internal systems and processes to boost team efficiency.
- Monitor and learn new state programs and procedures that affect leave processing.
About You
- 1–3 years of relevant administrative experience.
- Comfortable learning and using new technical systems.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a remote-first setup.
- Strong organization and attention to detail — you can track many moving pieces and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; you communicate clearly and with empathy across email, chat, and phone.
- People-oriented with strong active-listening skills and interpersonal intuition.
- Self-directed, adaptable, and receptive to feedback in a fast-changing environment.
