About the Role:
The Leader, Accounts Payable will oversee the end-to-end accounts payable operations, focusing on merchandise payables, invoice processing, and vendor reconciliations. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost allocation, timely payments, and strong supplier relationships. Additionally, the role champions process improvement initiatives, automation, and operational efficiency across the AP workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full-cycle merchandise Accounts Payable process, including invoice matching and vendor reconciliations.
- Collaborate with departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper cost and coding alignment.
- Ensure accurate, timely payments to vendors while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
- Drive initiatives to streamline Accounts Payable processes and enhance overall efficiency.
- Manage vendor loans and deposits throughout the Purchase Order lifecycle.
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in retail, wholesale, or consumer products sectors.
- Supervisory or team lead experience overseeing AP or operational workflows.
- Strong knowledge of merchandise payables, inventory accounting, and Procure-to-Pay processes.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with automation tools or data visualization platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing vendor claims or vendor loans.
- Excellent communication and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
