Description:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly experienced Lead Account Manager to support strategic growth across a designated portfolio of key accounts in a US Remote capacity. This role is responsible for driving new business opportunities, leading complex sales initiatives, and executing long-term account strategies that deliver both revenue growth and exceptional customer value. The position serves as a trusted strategic partner to clients, aligning Thermo Fisher’s extensive capabilities with evolving customer needs while maintaining strong commercial and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities – Strategic Account Ownership:
• Develop and execute relationship strategies by deeply understanding customer organizations and strategic priorities
• Manage and optimize base business portfolios to increase share of wallet and identify scope expansion opportunities
• Create account-specific growth plans, including multi-year roadmaps and long-term value propositions
• Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive positioning to support account strategy and innovation
New Business Development:
• Lead the full lifecycle of new business wins, including qualification, pricing strategy, bid defense, negotiations, and contract management
• Own project scoping activities to define requirements and support competitive, accurate proposals
• Drive the quoting process while aligning customer needs with internal capabilities
• Promote Thermo Fisher’s clinical trial support services, including Clinical Ancillary Management, Comparator Services, Total Transportation Management, Direct-to-Patient solutions, and Clinical Supply Optimization
• Deliver against defined sales targets for both new and organic growth
Client Relationship Management:
• Act as the primary point of contact and escalation lead for key accounts
• Build and maintain strong multi-level relationships with operational teams, SMEs, and executive stakeholders
• Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and governance meetings to share performance insights and strategic recommendations
Cross-Functional Leadership & Financial Management:
• Coordinate across Client Services, Operations, Finance, SMEs, and Executive Leadership to deliver an integrated customer experience
• Oversee financial health of assigned accounts, including forecasting, budgeting, margin analysis, and risk identification
• Support pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability
• Provide regular financial and operational updates to leadership teams
Additional Requirements & Qualifications:
• Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, pricing, and margin management
• Solid understanding of GMP/GDP principles, regulatory expectations, and quality standards
• Proficiency in CRM platforms such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
• Willingness to travel up to 25–35%, including domestic and international travel
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree such as MBA or MS
• 10+ years of progressive experience in clinical trial services, CDMO, logistics, or pharmaceutical operations
• Experience managing global or multi-service accounts
• Professional understanding of clinical trial phases and sponsor/CRO dynamics
