Description:
We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Stewarding Supervisor to oversee stewarding operations and ensure impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards across the kitchen. The successful candidate will coordinate stewarding staff, work closely with the Head Chef, and enforce food-safety procedures to support smooth and efficient kitchen service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the stewarding team, ensuring all duties follow established procedures and quality standards.
- Provide hands-on training in cleaning techniques, safe use of equipment, sanitation protocols, and proper handling of chemicals.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; initiate purchase requests to maintain stock levels.
- Inspect kitchen work areas and equipment regularly to confirm cleanliness and compliance with hygiene regulations.
- Create and manage rosters to guarantee adequate staffing during peak periods and special events.
- Coordinate with the Head Chef to support kitchen workflows and respond quickly to operational needs.
- Resolve cleanliness or sanitation complaints promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with other departments (kitchen, housekeeping, etc.) to maintain overall operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality Management.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and a related certification.
- Solid understanding of sanitation and hygiene practices in food service environments.
- Familiarity with local food safety regulations and standards.
- Proven track record in stewarding supervision within a 4- or 5-star hotel setting.
