Author Health is seeking a mission-driven Junior Recruiter to join their growing team and support national hiring efforts for their innovative mental health care services. The organization focuses on providing holistic, compassionate care to individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and dementia through a virtual-first, community-based model.

This role reports to the Senior Recruiter and involves attracting, engaging, and coordinating candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring a high-quality, inclusive experience. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone organized, people-focused, and eager to develop in the recruiting field.

Key Responsibilities:

Candidate Coordination & Communication:

  • Schedule and confirm candidate interviews with speed, accuracy, and professionalism
  • Communicate with candidates across various stages, answering questions and providing timely updates
  • Maintain accurate candidate records in ATS (ADP) and Recruiting Dashboard (Monday.com)

Talent Sourcing & Screening:

  • Proactively source candidates for high-priority roles using job boards, social media, and internal databases
  • Conduct phone screens for entry-level roles using structured guides
  • Present qualified candidates to the Senior Recruiter for feedback and next steps

Recruiting Operations:

  • Post job openings to internal and external platforms, ensuring visibility and compliance
  • Extend verbal offers and draft/send offer letters
  • Maintain recruiting reports, metrics, and dashboards

Candidate Experience & Employer Brand:

  • Uphold high standards of candidate care throughout the hiring process
  • Support recruitment marketing campaigns and DEI-focused outreach
  • Represent Author Health’s values and inclusive culture in all interactions

Onboarding Assistance:

  • Initiate and verify background and reference checks
  • Send tech assessments to candidates and record results in Greenhouse
  • Provide onboarding updates and recaps to supervisors and People Team, including credentialing information for clinicians
  • Send offer questionnaires to new hires after signed offer letters

Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or HR coordination; healthcare/behavioral health a plus
  • Experience scheduling interviews, managing calendars, and candidate communication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with ATS platforms (ADP preferred), Google Suite, Monday.com, and Slack
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and collaborative mindset
  • Passion for mental health and supporting vulnerable populations
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
