Description:

Yas Projects is looking to hire a detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to support its commercial team in managing post-contract quantity surveying activities. This role is ideal for candidates at the early stage of their career who are eager to build strong expertise in construction cost management, contracts, and project financial control.

The selected candidate will assist in key commercial and site coordination tasks, including measurements, cost tracking, and subcontractor management. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to real project environments while working closely with experienced professionals in the construction industry.

The role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and proficiency in technical software tools used for quantity surveying and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing accurate material take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
• Support preparation and submission of monthly interim payment applications
• Process subcontractor invoices and assist in payment certifications
• Provide material quantity support to site teams for purchase requests (PRs)
• Maintain commercial logs including variations, payment trackers, and claims registers
• Support budget monitoring and cost control activities
• Use advanced Excel functions for progress tracking and cost comparisons
• Assist in drafting correspondence and managing variation orders

Requirements:

• 0–3 years of experience in construction industry (GCC experience preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Planswift, and similar tools
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Good understanding of construction cost control and documentation

• Strong knowledge of:
• Quantity surveying principles and BOQ preparation
• Construction contracts and variation management
• Cost tracking and reporting systems
