Description:
TMC Shipping DMCC is currently looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join its team in Dubai. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals aiming to build a strong foundation in accounting within the maritime and shipping sector.
The selected candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting functions, and contributing to the preparation of financial reports. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on exposure to real-world accounting practices in a fast-paced business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in general ledger activities by recording financial transactions, supporting reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy of accounts
• Support accounts receivable processes, including preparing invoices, tracking incoming payments, and maintaining updated customer records
• Handle accounts payable tasks such as processing supplier invoices, verifying supporting documents, and preparing payment schedules
• Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and help identify and resolve discrepancies under supervision
• Support VAT-related tasks by maintaining proper documentation and assisting in the preparation of VAT returns
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Around 3 years of relevant work experience or internship exposure in accounting roles
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with accounting software
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and eagerness to learn
• Prior exposure to the shipping or maritime industry will be an added advantage
