Description:
E M SQUARE Electrical Contracting and Maintenance is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join its team in Abu Dhabi. This role is ideal for candidates with a solid accounting background who can efficiently manage daily financial activities while supporting the company’s ongoing contracting projects.
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with UAE VAT regulations. Applicants with previous experience in electrical or construction contracting environments will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate daily accounting records and financial transactions.
• Prepare and record purchase invoices, sales invoices, and payment vouchers.
• Process payments for suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile company bank statements and financial accounts.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports.
• Maintain petty cash records and monitor business expenses.
• Coordinate with project engineers and procurement teams regarding project costs.
• Prepare payroll and process employee expense reimbursements.
• Ensure proper filing and organization of accounting documents.
• Maintain VAT records and support compliance with UAE regulations.
• Assist management and external auditors during financial reviews.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably within the UAE.
• Previous experience in a construction or electrical contracting company is preferred.
• Good understanding of UAE VAT regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, ERP, or similar.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Project costing and subcontractor account management.
• Construction or electrical contracting documentation.
• LPOs, invoices, payment certificates, and project billing procedures.
