About the Role
Join CVS Health as an Intake Specialist (Complaint & Appeals) supporting Mercy Care Plan members. In this front-line position you’ll validate enrollment, capture accurate caller information, document reasons for contact, and provide compassionate support to members—particularly those with behavioral health needs. Your work ensures clinicians and care teams have complete, reliable intake records to act on.
Responsibilities:
- Verify caller enrollment and eligibility with Mercy Care Plan during each interaction.
- Collect and document accurate demographic and contact details from members or callers and reconcile information with Mercy Care systems.
- Confirm whether callers require special assistance (especially relevant for members with serious mental illness).
- Use QuickBase to complete intake forms, recording callers’ concerns and reasons for contacting us with clarity and precision.
- Provide empathetic, patient-centered support to all callers.
- Assist with follow-up and special projects as assigned by the team.
Required Qualifications:
- Must reside in Arizona.
- Minimum 6 months’ experience working with Medicare and Medicaid programs.
- Minimum 6 months’ experience in behavioral health systems related to individuals with serious mental illness.
- Comfortable typing and using multiple computer systems simultaneously.
- Ability to evaluate caller-provided information to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong verbal communication skills and professional phone presence.
- Good critical thinking and the ability to stay organized while multitasking.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.

Pay Range:
The typical pay range for this role is $17.00 – $28.46 per hour. Final offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position may be eligible for bonus or short-term incentive programs in addition to base pay.
