Description:
Pentabell United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Director to lead safety management activities for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Dubai. This permanent position is suitable for a senior safety professional with extensive experience managing large-scale construction and infrastructure environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing health and safety strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing leadership across complex projects, including tunneling operations involving TBM and SEM construction methods. Candidates with Middle East experience and strong leadership capabilities are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety strategies for water and wastewater projects.
• Lead safety management activities across large-scale infrastructure, utilities, and construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, project requirements, and industry standards.
• Manage safety risks associated with tunneling projects, including TBM and SEM construction methods.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and leadership to safety teams and project personnel.
• Monitor safety performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain a strong safety culture.
Requirements:
• Minimum 20 years of overall professional experience.
• At least 5 years of experience managing a similar scope of water/wastewater projects.
• Proven experience in safety management roles for major infrastructure, utilities, or PPP/concession projects.
• Extensive experience managing health and safety operations in water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with tunneling projects involving TBM and SEM construction methods.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Middle East project experience is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Occupational health and safety management systems.
• Construction safety practices and risk management.
• Infrastructure, utilities, and wastewater project safety requirements.
• NEBOSH standards and industry safety practices.
