Description:
CEMEX United Arab Emirates, a leading company in the building materials industry, is seeking a qualified Health and Safety Officer to join its team in Dubai. This role is focused on ensuring a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety policies, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting continuous improvement in HSE systems.
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Health and Safety Manager and will play a key role in implementing safety procedures, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and ensuring full compliance with local regulations and company standards. This position requires strong technical knowledge of HSE systems and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with local health and safety regulations.
• Conduct safety orientations, training sessions, meetings, and distribute H&S materials.
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of company HSE management systems.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE systems and recommend improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all CEMEX HSE policies and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and coordinate accident investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Participate in safety committee meetings and provide technical safety guidance.
• Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a safe workplace.
• Act as internal trainer for health and safety programs when required.
• Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE and operations within the ready-mix or cement industry.
• NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.
• OSHAD certification required.
• ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor certification required.
• Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety analysis methods.
• Experience in safety audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
• Knowledge of firefighting procedures and emergency response management.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of:
• HSE management systems, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Risk assessments, hazard analysis, and job safety analysis (JSA).
• Emergency response, firefighting procedures, and incident investigation.
