Description:
📢 Cemex United Arab Emirates is recruiting a hands-on Health and Safety Officer to support site safety in Dubai. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will help enforce company policies, promote a proactive safety culture, and work with operations to keep people and processes safe and compliant.

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Support the Health & Safety Manager in implementing and enforcing the company’s H&S policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a visible safety champion on site, helping embed safe work practices in day-to-day operations.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Ensure workplace safety and compliance with relevant local regulations and company standards.
  • Deliver safety orientations, trainings, toolbox talks, and distribute H&S materials to teams.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive H&S management system aligned with company policy.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the H&S system and propose practical improvements.
  • Coordinate and investigate incidents, identify root causes, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Provide leadership in plant safety committee meetings and offer guidance to supervisors and staff.
  • Serve as an in-house trainer for H&S programs and support emergency preparedness activities.
  • Collaborate across departments to maintain a healthy workplace and drive continuous improvement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education / Professional Experience: Bachelor’s degree. Minimum 3 years’ experience in HSE & operations within the ready-mix or cement industry.
  • Certifications: OSHAD and NEBOSH IGC required; ISO 45001:2018 auditor certification required.
  • Operational Knowledge: Strong skills in hazard and risk identification, job safety analysis, and hazard assessment methods.
  • Ability to conduct H&S audits and inspections, maintain training records in line with company and regulatory requirements, and support firefighting and emergency response planning.
