About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and performance-focused Head of Sales – Ocean Freight to take ownership of our ocean freight sales operations. This senior leadership role is responsible for expanding revenue, developing a strong sales culture, and reinforcing long-term client and partner relationships across international trade routes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive ocean freight sales strategy aligned with business growth goals
- Lead new client acquisition while strengthening and growing existing key accounts
- Recruit, coach, and inspire the sales team to consistently achieve and exceed targets
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with shipping lines, overseas agents, and global logistics partners
- Track market movements, freight rates, and competitor activity to stay ahead of industry trends
- Work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure high service standards
- Oversee sales forecasts, budgets, pipeline management, and performance reporting
Requirements
- 8–12 years of proven experience in ocean freight sales within freight forwarding
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and scaling sales teams
- Well-established network among shipping lines, exporters, and importers
- Strong negotiation, communication, and commercial decision-making skills
- Prior experience in GCC or regional markets is a strong advantage
