ABOUT THE ROLE
Baptist Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in the region, is seeking a GL Accountant to join our Finance Shared Services team remotely. This role involves comprehensive general ledger accounting, including the collection, recording, reviewing, reconciling, and analyzing of financial data to prepare accurate journal entries. The GL Accountant ensures compliance with system-wide policies and procedures, communicates effectively across departments, and applies critical thinking to enhance accounting methodologies through technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts accurately
- Collect, record, and analyze financial data to prepare journal entries
- Ensure adherence to Baptist Health policies and financial procedures
- Collaborate with various departments on accounting and financial matters
- Utilize technology to improve accounting processes and efficiency
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in a similar accounting role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft GL software is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with all levels of staff
