General Ledger Accountant – Abu Dhabi (1 Year Contract)
Reach Group is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join its Finance team on a one-year contractual basis. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong core accounting expertise who can manage end-to-end general ledger activities while ensuring full compliance with IFRS standards.
The selected candidate will play a key role in overseeing month-end and year-end closings, intercompany accounting, financial reporting, and audit support, while contributing to continuous improvement within the GL function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and maintain a comprehensive overview of the company’s accounts, general ledger, and reconciliations
- Lead month-end closing activities and prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements
- Manage intercompany transactions and perform timely reconciliations
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support audit requirements
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of all financial records
- Provide support for tax-related matters and fixed asset accounting
- Identify and implement process improvements within the general ledger function
- Ensure adherence to internal control frameworks, including ICFR compliance
Experience & Qualifications:
- 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience with strong core accounting knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- ACCA or CA qualification is mandatory (CIMA will also be considered)
- Advanced knowledge of finance and accounting systems (SAP experience preferred)
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in English with solid working knowledge of IFRS standards
