VC Lab is currently seeking a detail-focused Fund Accountant to support core fund accounting operations across a portfolio of venture capital funds. This remote role is ideal for professionals who value accuracy, consistency, and ownership, and who are interested in developing deep expertise in venture fund operations at scale. The position offers exposure to fund structures, capital activity, and financial reporting while working within established processes and controls.

Role Overview:
The Fund Accountant will be responsible for executing daily accounting workflows with precision, ensuring accurate records, and supporting reporting, audits, and investor-related activities across multiple venture funds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily fund accounting activities including transaction processing, allocations, and capital activity
• Maintain accurate general ledger records for assigned venture funds
• Prepare periodic financial statements and supporting schedules
• Support capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting processes
• Assist with audit and tax preparation by maintaining clear and well-organized workpapers
• Follow established accounting procedures and internal controls consistently
• Identify and communicate discrepancies or questions to senior team members in a timely manner

Core Requirements:

• 2 to 4+ years of experience in fund accounting, accounting, or fund administration
• Familiarity with venture capital or private equity fund structures
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to manage recurring deadlines across multiple funds
• Clear written communication skills and dependable follow-through
• Interest in improving accounting workflows through systems, data, or automation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience supporting audits or year-end close processes
