Description:
LearnQuest is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to manage and oversee its global accounting function. This remote role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across multiple countries and currencies, and for providing the financial insights that support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will blend hands-on accounting expertise with a strategic view of multinational operations, intercompany activity, and consolidation.

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing direction, feedback, and professional development.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across entities and ensure consolidated reporting aligns with GAAP and international standards.
• Maintain and document accounting policies, internal controls, and general ledger integrity (reconciliations and journal entries).
• Coordinate global consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and foreign currency translation.
• Oversee compliance with tax, statutory reporting, VAT/GST filings, and liaise with external auditors for annual audits across jurisdictions.
• Partner with the Director of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow / treasury support.
• Recommend KPIs and benchmarks, prepare management reporting, and perform financial analysis for investments and contracts.
• Support systems improvements, financial automation initiatives, and ERP/consolidation tool implementations.
• Work closely with international teams and service providers to standardize accounting processes and ensure timely reporting.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar certification preferred.
• At least 10 years of accounting/financial management experience with 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven track record managing multi-country, multi-currency accounting and consolidations.
• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and international accounting standards.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools.
• Experience with professional services, education, or technology sectors is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements and distributed/global teams.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote and multinational environment.
