Description:
We are seeking a detail-driven Financial Analyst to join the Pinion Risk Management team, where data-driven insights directly support the success and sustainability of dairy farms. This role blends strong analytical skills with strategic thinking and offers the opportunity to influence business growth while working in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

This position is remote for candidates based in western New York, with periodic on-site engagement at client locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret financial and operational data to support informed decision-making for dairy clients
  • Prepare detailed financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, budgets, and benchmarking analyses
  • Provide actionable insights that contribute to client growth and operational improvements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify process efficiencies and enhance analytical workflows
  • Deliver timely analytics to support regional and national expansion initiatives
  • Continuously learn and adopt new tools, methodologies, and analytical techniques
  • Participate in on-site visits to dairy farms up to twice per week, with limited overnight travel

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and lookup functions
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms
  • Experience with farm or production management systems (e.g., DairyComp, FeedWatch) is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professional integrity
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting financial findings clearly
  • Genuine interest in agriculture, with preference for prior exposure to ag or dairy operations
  • Comfortable using technology for analysis and reporting
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to travel to rural locations as required; valid driver’s license required
