About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join a growing insurance firm and support an expanding finance function. This role is ideal for candidates with accounting or FP&A experience who enjoy working with large datasets, analytics, and the reinsurance side of insurance operations. The position offers strong visibility within the finance function and clear opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities — Financial Data Preparation & Reconciliation:
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for insurance entities and internal management reporting.
- Prepare journal entries related to premiums, claims/losses, and commissions.
- Validate claims reporting and reconcile escrow account activity.
- Build reporting schedules and dashboards for senior management and board-level presentations.
Key Responsibilities — Reinsurance Support:
- Maintain reinsurance billing processes and inventory records.
- Perform reconciliations of reinsurance data and prepare supporting schedules for finance and audit purposes.
Key Responsibilities — Reporting & Analytics:
- Extract, clean and transform large datasets into actionable insights to support finance leadership.
- Conduct routine reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
- Participate in system testing for new automation tools and help improve existing Excel-based reporting templates (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
- Support the development of Power BI or other visualization reports where needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years in accounting, financial analysis, or insurance operations; exposure to P&C insurance and reinsurance is an advantage.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational ability, and strong verbal/written communication skills.
