The Financial Analyst role at Ryder is a key position providing financial and analytical support to senior management, including Senior Financial Management, Group Logistics Managers, and Logistics Managers. This remote opportunity allows you to contribute to month-end closings, operational initiatives, financial planning, and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Execute month-end closing activities including journal entries, variance explanations, and general ledger research to ensure accurate billing.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to identify and recommend cost-saving and productivity-enhancing opportunities.
- Support financial forecasting, business planning, and branch performance analysis.
- Provide training and guidance to Business Unit staff on financial policies, procedures, and tools.
- Conduct branch audits ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
- Act as liaison between Business Units, Ryder’s Shared Services Center, and Corporate Accounting.
- Track, report, and follow up on financial performance metrics, providing actionable recommendations.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support finance team objectives and organizational goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and business planning.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Experience with financial software and tools such as Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel 10–20% as needed.
