Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, remote Financial Planning Analyst to support the financial health and strategic growth of our marketing agency. Initially part-time, this role involves developing budgets, financial forecasts, and performing analyses to guide executive decisions. Reporting directly to Co-CEO John Corcoran, the role oversees monthly financial books, projects revenue and expense growth, and manages budgeting across all major profit and loss categories. This position is ideal for a proactive, self-directed individual who thrives in remote, independent work environments and offers potential to transition to a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and recommend annual financial budgets in partnership with the fractional CFO.
- Establish recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual financial review and forecasting processes.
- Create reporting procedures to communicate financial goals, performance metrics, and results to executive management.
- Prepare financial forecasts and conduct trend analyses for sales, expenses, and operational areas.
- Evaluate operational performance using quantitative and qualitative analysis to support strategic planning.
- Identify revenue and expenditure trends and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Compare actual expenses against budgets, issue variance reports, and suggest corrective actions.
- Develop KPIs and operational metrics to improve business insight and decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Controller to oversee the monthly accounting close process.
- Conduct ROI analyses for client projects to support strategic investments.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and other duties as assigned to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.
- Marketing agency or service-oriented industry experience is a plus.
- Strong independent work ethic with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient with email and Slack.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and proficiency in Google Drive tools.
- Fluency in English; non-native speakers are welcome.
- Reliable remote working setup with strong internet connectivity.
- Expertise in financial modeling, trend analysis, variance reporting, and KPI development.
