Description:
Johns Hopkins Health Plans (JHHP), a leading provider-sponsored health plan and a division of Johns Hopkins Medicine, is seeking a Financial Analyst II to join its remote team. JHHP serves over 500,000 members across Medicaid, Medicare, commercial, military health, and health solutions lines, managing more than $3 billion in revenue. This role focuses on delivering analytics-driven insights to support financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial trend analyses to monitor key performance indicators
- Review and explain budget variances to aid decision-making
- Generate and analyze financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other reports
- Support month-end, quarterly, and annual closing activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and insights
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to senior leadership
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1+ years of experience as a financial analyst in the healthcare industry (3+ years preferred)
- Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and Power BI for data analysis and visualization
- Knowledge of managed healthcare systems and processes (highly preferred)
- Strong spreadsheet and database software experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze complex data and present actionable insights
