Description:
USA TODAY Co., Inc., a diversified media and digital marketing solutions company, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant/Analyst to join its team. The role provides accurate, timely, and insightful financial analysis to support both Financial Shared Services leadership and local business units. This position is ideal for individuals who can manage detailed accounting tasks while maintaining a strong focus on business performance, internal controls, and compliance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships and provide support to finance leadership and staff at business units
- Conduct detailed reviews of revenue and expense results, investigate variances, prepare journal entries, and provide explanations
- Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls and compliance requirements
- Assemble and summarize data, prepare reports, and present findings, analyses, and recommendations to management
- Assist in developing and implementing standardized analytical tools and reports, as well as ad hoc reporting
- Collaborate with team members and leadership on various projects as assigned
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions
Required Competencies
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Financial analysis and compliance expertise
- Results-oriented with strong customer and client focus
- Effective communication skills at all organizational levels

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of relevant experience or comparable work experience
- Strong Excel skills and organizational abilities
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in consolidated financial environments
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Ability to manage both high-level financial vision and detailed assignments
- Knowledge of BPC is a plus
The base salary for this role ranges from $45,000 to $55,000, depending on location, education, skills, certifications, and experience. Variable compensation may apply.
