Description:
H&R Block is seeking a Finance Specialist to support routine financial processes, transactions, and financial service operations. The role involves applying accounting principles, maintaining accurate financial records, resolving client inquiries, and supporting products including payment solutions, prepaid services, loans, and savings programs.
The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, basic accounting knowledge, and the ability to analyze financial information while working with multiple systems. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and provide excellent support to internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process financial information and enter data into accounting and financial systems.
• Handle incoming ACH deposits, account maintenance requests, and financial exception items.
• Perform daily general ledger balancing and reconciliation of financial transactions.
• Research and resolve client inquiries by using available resources and procedures.
• Validate financial data accuracy and resolve discrepancies or unmatched reconciliation items.
• Execute established financial procedures while meeting service level requirements.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize financial data to resolve issues.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Support operational teams by providing professional customer service for escalated client concerns.
• Handle confidential and sensitive financial information appropriately.
• Assist with improving and implementing current and new financial processes.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• College Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidential information.
• Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of banking processes and regulations is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to learn web-based systems and work across multiple platforms.
• Experience with SQL is an advantage.
