COWOC is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented File Clerk to join our remote administrative team. You’ll help organize, maintain, and retrieve digital records that support our youth development, health & wellness, violence prevention, and community programs in Prince George’s County. This role is ideal for someone who values accuracy, confidentiality, and working independently in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize and maintain digital filing systems for documents, records, and reports to ensure easy access and consistent structure.
• Scan, upload, and properly label electronic documents, ensuring files are complete and accurately indexed.
• Retrieve files and respond to documentation requests from internal teams in a timely manner.
• Review documents for accuracy and completeness prior to filing and flag discrepancies for correction.
• Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information at all times.
• Manage file retention and deletion according to company policy and legal requirements.
• Assist with audits and data-cleanup projects, producing clear logs and status updates.
• Coordinate with program and admin teams to ensure documentation is categorized correctly and accessible.
Qualifications & Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional administrative coursework or certificates are a plus.
• Previous experience as a file clerk, data-entry clerk, or administrative assistant preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Familiarity with cloud file management platforms (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox) and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Comfortable working independently with good time-management and communication skills.
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet home workspace for remote work.
