Description:
Paylocity, a leading provider of cloud-based HR and payroll software solutions, is looking for an Engineer Software to join our Product & Technology team. Our award-winning platform helps businesses automate HR and payroll processes, attract and retain talent, and foster a strong workplace culture.
This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or your location of record within the U.S. Applicants must be available five days per week during designated work hours. Work arrangements may change based on business needs or performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality SaaS software applications following best practices
• Contribute to existing codebases with clear separation of concerns
• Collaborate with senior engineers on project planning and implementation
• Understand existing system designs and adapt to technology choices
• Implement automated tests and contribute to testing improvements
• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards
• Communicate effectively within the engineering team and contribute to team discussions
Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with senior engineers on project execution
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews
• Share technical knowledge with peers and support colleagues in challenging situations
• Build strong cross-departmental working relationships
Growth & Development:
• Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge
• Learn from mentors and senior engineers
• Document technical decisions and share knowledge within the team
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices
Technical Skills:
• Strong foundation in programming and software development principles
• Proficiency in C#, .NET, React, SQL Server, or similar object-oriented languages
• Experience with agile methodologies and version control systems
• Understanding of software architecture, testing methodologies, and collaborative development tools
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit for long periods (7–8 hours/day) and operate computer and phone systems
• Use multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously
