As part of our mission to help clients secure their financial well-being, we are currently seeking a Short-Term Disability Team Leader to join our Disability and Absence Claims division.

This leadership role reports directly to the Disability and Absence Claims Leader and plays a key part in overseeing claim management, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring outstanding service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claims Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of disability and leave-of-absence claims to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Client Relations: Build and nurture trusted relationships with clients, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns effectively to ensure satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of claims professionals. Set performance expectations, provide mentorship, and encourage professional growth.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure all processes align with federal, state, and company regulations. Stay updated on legal and procedural changes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, external vendors, and key stakeholders to deliver a seamless and market-leading claims experience.

Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $68,000 to $92,000, depending on experience, skills, and location. Additional compensation opportunities include performance bonuses, short-term incentives, and salary increases.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years in Employee Benefits or Group Insurance Claims
  • At least 3 years of team leadership experience
  • Knowledge of Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and Paid/Unpaid Leave programs

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with FINEOS Claims software (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Strong analytical and communication abilities
  • Proven client relationship management skills
  • Ability to handle complexity and ambiguity with confidence
