The organization is currently seeking an experienced Email Deliverability Consultant to join on a freelance basis. This role will serve as the primary technical expert responsible for ensuring optimal email deliverability performance across multiple high-volume client accounts. The consultant will play a critical role in monitoring sender reputation, resolving deliverability issues, and improving inbox placement outcomes during high-traffic campaign periods.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor email deliverability health across 60+ nonprofit and political client accounts
• Identify risks such as reputation issues, inbox placement drops, authentication failures, and blocklist concerns before they impact performance
• Act as the lead technical expert during deliverability incidents and provide rapid troubleshooting solutions
• Manage mitigation efforts with mailbox providers, ESPs, and external technical partners
• Review and optimize email authentication systems including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and domain alignment
• Use tools such as Inbox Monster, Everest, or Validity to analyze inbox placement, reputation metrics, and seed testing data
• Provide actionable recommendations based on deliverability insights to internal and client-facing teams
• Collaborate with strategists, email production teams, and account managers to resolve technical and performance issues
• Develop documentation, processes, and training materials to improve internal deliverability knowledge
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor coordination related to email deliverability
• Support planning for high-volume fundraising and advocacy campaigns
Requirements:
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in email deliverability or high-volume email environments
• Strong expertise in diagnosing deliverability issues and authentication failures
• Deep knowledge of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and email sender reputation systems
• Experience with deliverability tools such as Inbox Monster, Everest, or Validity
• Ability to interpret technical data and provide clear, actionable recommendations
• Strong communication skills with ability to simplify complex technical concepts
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and fast-paced environments
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal stakeholders effectively
Nice to Have:
• Experience in nonprofit, advocacy, or political email campaigns
• Familiarity with high-frequency fundraising and campaign-season email pressure
• Client-facing consulting or advisory experience

PAY RATE: $55 – $75 USD per hour (up to 15 hours per week)
