The Healthcare Anchor Network (HAN) is a national coalition of more than 75 health systems working to strengthen local economies through place-based investing, impact purchasing, and impact workforce strategies. HAN supports members by setting standards, sharing best practices, producing sector data, and creating collaborative spaces for peer learning and implementation.
About the Role
HAN is hiring a technical Database Administrator who will combine Salesforce administration with technology project management and data analysis. This role emphasizes vendor coordination and excellent service to both HAN staff and member organizations. The successful candidate will manage database initiatives end-to-end, act as the primary liaison with external technology partners, and ensure data solutions are secure, reliable, and aligned with HAN’s goals.
Role Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for HAN staff and member Salesforce requests — including upgrades, configuration changes, reporting, and data retrieval.
- Coordinate with external partners to support data collection efforts, develop submission tools, and produce documentation.
- Own HAN’s dashboard relationship: manage the vendor, guide dashboard development, and ensure successful delivery and maintenance.
- Project-manage upgrades, enhancements, and other data-collection technology initiatives from planning through deployment.
- Manage third-party vendors and service providers who deliver database administration and support services.
- Lead cross-functional projects related to data collection, ensuring timely execution, risk mitigation, and transparent stakeholder communication.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, responsibilities, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure data and systems meet industry security standards and internal governance requirements.
- Work with operations and program teams to define project success metrics and deployment strategies.
This Position May Also
- Negotiate vendor scopes of work, SLAs, data-sharing agreements, and delivery timelines; monitor vendor performance and escalate issues as needed.
- Convene and lead regular project meetings and status reviews with internal teams and external partners.
Logistics & Start Date
- This is a full-time, remote position expected to begin in late September 2025.
- The role includes a six-month probationary period and is classified at Database Administrator II or III, reporting to the Senior Manager, Impact Measurement.
- Occasional travel required (approximately 3–5 times per year).
Required Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, or related field plus 4+ years relevant experience (or 8+ years experience in lieu of a degree).
- Salesforce certification required (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Advanced Administrator, or NPSP/related certs).
Competencies & Attributes
- Strong customer-service orientation and responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of relational and non-relational database concepts and vendor management for these technologies.
- Experience evaluating, selecting, and overseeing third-party vendors or MSPs for database, data collection, and visualization services.
- Knowledge of database security, backups, disaster recovery, and compliance practices.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with external integrators.
- Comfortable using project-management tools (e.g., Monday.com or similar).
- Excellent organizational, planning, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong project-management capabilities and the ability to balance multiple deadlines.
- Commitment to data quality, integrity, and accuracy.
- Interest in or commitment to HAN’s anchor-mission goals around inclusive local economic development.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications (starting range for Database Administrator II: $93,000; maximum up to $112,000 depending on level).
- Generous benefits package including health care, three weeks’ paid vacation per year, and an employer contribution of 7% to a 403(b) retirement plan.
