Description:
ATI Restoration, LLC is seeking a proactive and technically strong Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and safeguard our database environment across cloud and on-premises systems. The ideal candidate will drive performance tuning, enforce security and compliance measures, and collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to ensure reliable, scalable data platforms—especially where regulated-data controls (e.g., healthcare/finance) are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Monitor, maintain, and optimize database systems for performance, stability, and data integrity. Install, configure, and upgrade database engines and supporting tools.
- Backup & Recovery: Design and operate robust backup and recovery processes to reduce data-loss risk and minimize downtime. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as indexing, statistics updates, and storage optimization.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and audit access controls, encryption, and logging. Apply best practices for malware protection and enforce controls required for HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks.
- Performance Optimization: Diagnose and resolve bottlenecks (queries, indexing, server resources), tune queries and indexes, and forecast capacity needs to support growth.
- Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure: Architect and maintain cloud-native or hybrid database solutions using AWS (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB) and/or Azure services. Work with DevOps and software teams to align database architecture with application requirements.
- Troubleshooting & RCA: Lead root-cause analysis for production incidents and coordinate remediation with cross-functional teams. Use monitoring tools to detect anomalies and act proactively.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date documentation for schemas, configurations, runbooks, and change logs. Produce regular reports on usage, performance metrics, and security audits.
Required Skills And Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in database administration or engineering.
- Proficiency with at least two of: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
- Strong SQL skills (T-SQL, PL/pgSQL) and solid understanding of schema design and normalization.
- Experience deploying, monitoring, and supporting databases in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of database security practices, audit logging, and data encryption.
- Excellent troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills; able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Azure/GCP certifications).
- Experience in highly regulated industries (healthcare, finance, manufacturing).
- Familiarity with DevOps tooling and CI/CD practices for database deployments.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data migration strategies.
