Keystone Recruitment is hiring on behalf of one of its clients, a leading organization operating at the forefront of artificial intelligence development. This opportunity is focused on onboarding highly skilled Database Administrators to contribute to an intensive AI training and evaluation initiative. The project involves executing real-world database operations that directly support AI model development across SQL, systems administration, and performance optimization domains.
This short-term contract is designed for experienced DBAs who bring production-level expertise and best practices into advanced AI workflows. The role is fully remote and structured as an hourly independent contractor engagement, offering flexibility while working against clearly defined timelines and deliverables.
Role Overview
As a Database Administrator on this project, you will apply hands-on database expertise to simulate, execute, and document real enterprise-grade scenarios that will be used to train and evaluate AI systems. Your work will directly influence how AI models understand and solve complex database challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and optimize complex SQL queries using execution plans, indexing strategies, and performance diagnostics.
- Implement schema modifications using CREATE and ALTER statements with appropriate rollback and change management planning.
- Configure, test, and validate automated backup and restoration workflows to ensure data resilience.
- Manage database users, roles, and permissions in alignment with security policies and least-privilege principles.
- Perform data exports and imports across systems, ensuring data integrity, validation, and proper encoding.
- Conduct data quality assessments, identify issues, and develop remediation scripts or corrective actions.
- Maintain statistics, manage transaction logs, and test failover and recovery procedures.
- Support compliance-driven tasks such as data extractions, patching, and system audits for enterprise scenarios.
- Produce clear, structured documentation covering procedures, configurations, and performance findings for technical stakeholders.
Ideal Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator in production environments.
- Advanced SQL expertise with strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server; experience with additional RDBMS platforms is a plus.
- Demonstrated strength in performance tuning, database security, data integrity, and schema design.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as SOX, along with common data formats and backup/restore tools.
- Experience managing large-scale datasets and end-to-end database infrastructure.
- Ability to deliver production-ready scripts, technical documentation, and operational runbooks.
Opportunity Details
