WE ARE HIRING
Nike is seeking a Data Scientist III to join the Reporting + Intelligence team within the Consumer Product & Innovation organization. This role focuses on leveraging data-driven insights and AI to optimize all stages of Nike’s apparel and footwear product creation lifecycle, working closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze structured and unstructured datasets including merchandising, design, sales, consumer behavior, and market trends.
- Plan and execute end-to-end ML model experiment designs.
- Apply hypothesis testing, regression, A/B testing, and time-series forecasting to product creation decisions.
- Build and maintain predictive and prescriptive models, collaborating with ML engineers to convert prototypes into AI products.
- Work with product and engineering teams to integrate data-driven insights into merchandising plans and product design recommendations.
- Evaluate existing ML and statistical products to ensure accuracy and high-quality results.
- Conduct data and error analysis to improve model performance.
- Create clear visualizations to communicate findings and actionable recommendations.
- Identify and recommend analytical tools, research methods, and techniques.
Requirements:
- Strong foundation in statistics and mathematics, with practical application experience in probability, hypothesis testing, and modeling.
- Proficiency with cloud-based data science, machine learning, and visualization tools (e.g., Jupyter Notebooks, RStudio, pandas, PySpark, SageMaker, Databricks, MLFlow, Tableau, PowerBI).
- Expertise in Python, R, and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and model building.
- Experience with machine learning algorithms, deep learning, neural networks, prediction, forecasting, and A/B testing.
- GenAI experience and building LLM prototypes.
- Ability to develop and run simulation and optimization tools to support decision-making.
- Strong data visualization skills and ability to present complex data to non-technical audiences.
- Independent, collaborative, and able to work with diverse teams.
Preferred:
- 3+ years of building machine learning and deep learning models.
