Description:
Communities In Schools (CIS) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Quality & Verification Specialist to lead data quality initiatives across our organization. This role is vital for ensuring accurate, reliable, and actionable data to support the mission of improving student outcomes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Data Verification and Quality Assurance (40%)
• Lead and execute annual and quarterly data verification processes alongside the Data Quality team.
• Develop and maintain quality assurance protocols and technical scripts to identify and flag data inconsistencies, gaps, or logic issues.
• Perform root cause analysis of data quality problems and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Use tools like Power Query, Excel (VBA), and other scripts to aggregate, clean, and verify data.
• Create Excel templates and validate formulas for annual publications.

Process Design & Resource Curation (30%)
• Draft clear guidance on data entry and review procedures for internal teams.
• Work with the End User Support Specialist to ensure system updates and data requirements are reflected in training materials.
• Collaborate with Sr. Data Associates to produce user-friendly resources for CISDM system enhancements.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to the CIS network with clarity and timeliness.

Develop and Review System Requirements (15%)
• Review field logic, dropdown values, validation rules, and workflows for compliance with reporting needs.
• Partner with Systems Analysts to test enhancements and resolve bugs before release.
• Maintain and document data integrity rules.

Cross-Functional Collaboration (15%)
• Collaborate with program, grants, research, and other teams to ensure data supports grant compliance and performance reporting.
• Serve as a bridge between data entry users and technical developers, translating issues into actionable language.
• Assist the Data Quality team with system testing and end-user support during End-of-Year reporting.

Requirements:
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience; at least 2 years with advanced Excel (formulas, VBA, Power Query).
• Expertise in data validation, cleaning, and logic review processes.
• Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in training, coaching, and supporting adult learners.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn new systems and tools.

Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar database/reporting tools.
• Experience supporting end-users or help desk systems.
