We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to collaborate with our Data Science and Data Infrastructure teams to design, scale, and maintain robust data pipelines. The role involves partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure timely and reliable delivery of data. You will also contribute to building metrics, self-serve reporting capabilities, and foundational data sets that drive Figma’s next phase of growth.
✨ Key Responsibilities:
- Build, own, and maintain scalable data pipelines connecting various cloud data sources
- Develop a deep understanding of Figma’s core data models and optimize pipelines for performance and scalability
- Collaborate with Data Science and Data Infrastructure teams to create trusted and well-documented data sets for analytics and self-service
- Work with multiple stakeholders to derive requirements and architect shared datasets; document, simplify, and explain complex problems clearly
- Establish best practices for building specialized datasets for analytics and modeling
🌟 Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in a relevant field
- Fluency in SQL and Python
- Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, and ETL/reverse ETL tools
- Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to balance fast solutions with long-term architecture
- Self-starter with excellent communication and collaboration abilities

- Knowledge of data modeling methodologies for robust data architectures
- Experience with business systems such as Salesforce, Customer IO, Stripe, and NetSuite
