Description:
Frontdoor, Inc. is seeking a talented Data Engineer to join its remote team in the United States. Frontdoor is transforming how homeowners maintain and protect their most valuable asset – their home – through innovative home repair and maintenance solutions, including the American Home Shield service and the Frontdoor app powered by Streem technology.

As an intermediate-level Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining data systems and pipelines that support the organization’s growing data volume and complexity. You will collaborate closely with analytics and business teams to improve data accessibility and support data-driven decision-making. This role requires strong technical skills, creativity in solving complex data challenges, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for both batch and stream processing in cloud environments
  • Develop, construct, and maintain data models within data warehouses using dimensional modeling techniques
  • Collaborate with business and analytics teams to improve data models and enhance data accessibility
  • Optimize database architecture for high performance while managing storage and computation trade-offs
  • Automate manual processes for greater efficiency and reliability
  • Ensure governance standards and best practices for enterprise-level data, metrics, and reporting
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to acquire domain knowledge and align data solutions with business goals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Python development and advanced SQL querying
  • Demonstrated experience with ETL development, data modeling, data warehousing, and cloud data lakes
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP cloud infrastructure and tools
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake
  • Familiarity with visualization and reporting tools like Looker and Tableau
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving requirements
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate requirements into database models and full data pipeline solutions
