Description:
E Source is seeking a curious, methodical Data Analyst to join our team of utility and data specialists. You’ll work on projects that help water utilities improve the efficiency of their distribution systems — turning messy operational data into clear, actionable recommendations that support real-world decisions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and apply a strong working knowledge of distribution water-loss management best practices.
  • Analyze utility datasets (production time series, billing records, logged pressure data, etc.) using Microsoft Excel plus scripted analyses (preferably in R) to quantify and value system water loss.
  • Produce clear, well-structured reports that synthesize findings, quantify uncertainty, and deliver programmatic recommendations.
  • Communicate results to clients and partners, and provide education on water-loss concepts in both formal presentations and informal conversations.
  • Support colleagues by completing assigned tasks that advance projects, and expand your portfolio of responsibilities over time.

What Will Make You a Great Fit:

  • Minimum three years of professional experience demonstrating mastery in data analysis, technical writing, and project coordination.
  • Practical familiarity with water distribution networks, water agencies, and water policy is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in scripting for data analysis (R preferred); excellent spreadsheet skills.
  • Experience cleaning, processing, and visualizing large, inconsistent datasets; GIS skills are a plus.
  • Strong synthesis and technical-writing ability, with confidence presenting technical material to clients and at conferences.
  • Proven project-management skills, the ability to juggle multiple projects, and a self-starter attitude.
  • Comfort working with uncertainty in analysis and outcomes, along with a positive, problem-solving mindset.

What You Can Expect:

  • Competitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance; company-paid life insurance; long- and short-term disability; and flexible spending plans.
  • A flexible time-off (FTO) policy and flexible schedules/locations to support work–life balance, plus paid parental leave.
  • Retirement savings plan (401(k)/RRSP) with a 3% employer match.
  • A remote-friendly role (remote, hybrid, or office-based options available).
  • A collaborative environment where employees are encouraged to grow and pursue new opportunities within E Source.
