Description:
Serco Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support its NAVSEA contract and U.S. Navy modernization programs. This fully remote position is ideal for professionals with strong data analytics skills and experience working with defense, naval operations, maintenance metrics, or complex technical environments.
The selected candidate will analyze large datasets, develop reports and dashboards, and provide actionable insights to support senior Navy leaders and operational decision-making. Candidates with shipboard operations, shipyard experience, or Navy maintenance analytics backgrounds will have a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform analysis and preparation work for Availability Duration Scorecard (ADS) Quarterly Reviews.
• Support calculation of projected Navy Surface ship maintenance and modernization availability durations.
• Organize data, conduct analytics, and prepare technical reports and written materials.
• Create and update databases, spreadsheets, and analytical models related to maintenance planning, shipyard capacity, execution status, and financial tracking.
• Develop Excel and SQL queries to retrieve and analyze information from databases.
• Apply data mining techniques to identify trends, patterns, relationships, and operational insights.
• Analyze data and provide recommendations to improve processes and decision-making.
• Create dashboards, reports, presentations, and graphical data representations.
• Interpret trends, identify root causes, and provide actionable solutions.
• Lead analytical working groups, forums, and readiness exercises.
• Provide program management and planning support services.
Requirements:
• Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong background in data analytics, statistical analysis, data visualization, and advanced analytical techniques.
• Experience supporting decision-making through data-driven insights.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to senior leadership.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Strong knowledge of:
• SQL queries, databases, and data analysis techniques.
• Data visualization, dashboards, and reporting tools.
• Microsoft Excel and advanced analytics methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
• NAVSEA or U.S. Navy experience.
• Experience with ship maintenance, overhaul, and modernization activities.
• Experience with Python, AI, or machine learning programming.
• Familiarity with Navy maintenance and readiness systems such as OARS, VSB, and CASREP.
• DoD or naval surface ship experience.
• Certifications or education in data analytics, computer science, or related fields.
