Rippling is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Customer Support Specialist, Tax to join its Customer Support Payroll team. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in US payroll operations who enjoy solving complex issues and helping customers navigate payroll tax and compliance processes.

The successful candidate will provide expert support for payroll tax-related inquiries, troubleshoot customer issues, maintain support documentation, and collaborate with internal teams to improve customer experiences. This position offers an opportunity to grow within a fast-paced SaaS environment while working with innovative HR, IT, and Finance solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve payroll tax-related issues while guiding customers through payroll processing, tax filing, and compliance questions.

• Become a product expert on US Payroll and Tax capabilities to support customer needs effectively.

• Develop and maintain accurate documentation, FAQs, and support resources for customers and internal teams.

• Analyze customer interactions to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improving support processes.

• Collaborate with Product Managers by sharing customer feedback, support insights, and compliance concerns.

• Serve as an escalation resource for complex payroll issues and provide guidance to Customer Support Specialists.

• Manage and resolve challenging customer cases using payroll expertise and platform knowledge.

Requirements:

• 1–4 years of customer support experience within the US Payroll domain.

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience resolving payroll discrepancies.

• Experience working with payroll providers, HR software companies, or large in-house payroll functions is preferred.

• Experience troubleshooting SaaS products with strong attention to detail.

• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Must currently reside in a Pacific or Mountain timezone state and be available to work between 9 AM and 6 PM PST.

Strong knowledge of:

    • US payroll processing and tax compliance
