Description:
First Advantage, a leading provider of mission-critical background screening solutions, is seeking a Customer Success Engineer to support its Gig vertical. This role works directly with high-growth platforms that rely on real-time, API-driven background screening and identity workflows to onboard and manage their workforce. The position is ideal for engineers who enjoy translating complex technical concepts into actionable guidance and delivering high-impact solutions for customers.
The selected candidate will act as the primary technical resource for gig customers, guiding API integrations, designing scalable workflows, and ensuring smooth transitions from evaluation to production. They will collaborate closely with engineering, product, client success, and sales teams to support customer success in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as a subject matter expert on First Advantage’s API capabilities, with focus on gig and high-volume onboarding use cases
• Work with customers and prospects to understand technical requirements and guide API integration design and best practices
• Deliver technical demonstrations and walkthroughs for customers, clearly explaining API use and integration options
• Partner with internal teams to capture feedback, document challenges, and influence API improvements
• Maintain and improve public-facing API documentation and developer resources for customer self-service
Requirements:
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering or related roles with strong API knowledge
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs and backend tools such as Postman, Java, Node.js, Python
• Ability to write production-ready, scalable code
• Strong technical support, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience in agile development and project management
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly solutions
• Comfortable collaborating with technical stakeholders and senior leadership
