Description:
Pinnacle Claims Management, part of Western Growers Health, is seeking a skilled Customer Accounting Specialist II to manage financial transactions, customer accounts, and billing operations. This remote position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate group and individual accounts receivable, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with health care and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Account Management & Maintenance
• Manage contribution/premium reimbursements, COBRA/Retiree reimbursements, and vendor payments
• Authorize vendor payments within four business days of account funding
• Process and release self-funded claims payments
• Reconcile group ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain audit documentation
• Monitor bank accounts for exceptions and resolve issues promptly
• Complete month-end financials and mid-month cash application audits
• Maintain Bank lockbox and ACH/Wire programs, retiree invoicing, and receivable management
• Support FSA, HSA, HRA programs
• Manage delinquency process and third-party pharmacy billing
Process Management
• Process manual adjustments and verify group ledger corrections
• Perform bank reconciliations and ledger adjustments
• Authorize refunds for terminations and overpayments
• Apply cash to appropriate ledgers and resolve application issues
• Provide backup for invoice generation, daily cash application, and related duties
• Respond to account inquiries and prepare ad hoc reports
• Identify inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, and document SOPs
• Perform ledger reconciliations to ensure compliance
Customer Service
• Collaborate with Eligibility Specialists to resolve outstanding balances
• Act as liaison to other departments for issue resolution
• Deliver timely, professional customer service to clients
• Mentor Customer Accounting Specialist I
• Consistently meet processing cycle time standards and production due dates
Other Responsibilities
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant workstation and internet requirements (40 MB download / 10 MB upload, wired Ethernet)
• Maintain safety equipment (smoke detector, fire extinguisher, first aid kit)
• Perform other duties as assigned to enhance member success and organizational goals
