About the Role:
This position is ideal for an external accountant or CPA with strong expertise in US GAAP, multi-state sales tax, and e-commerce accounting. You will support accurate financial reporting, US tax compliance, and scalable accounting processes, initially in QuickBooks Online and transitioning to NetSuite long-term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily General Ledger entries for costs and revenue, ensuring proper allocation to accounts, cost centers, and tax rates
- Maintain and review General Ledger and financial records per US GAAP, including fixed assets, amortization, provisions, and accruals
- Perform inventory accounting and manage both accrual and cash-basis accounting
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow)
- Reconcile bank statements, payment processors, and marketplace sales
- Support multi-state sales tax compliance and filings
- Coordinate federal and state tax reporting with external advisors
- Support audits, financial reviews, and internal control processes
- Provide actionable financial insights to support cash flow and operational decision-making
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA license required
- 5+ years of experience in accounting for US-based clients; e-commerce experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and US tax regulations
- Experience with accrual and cash accounting, multi-state sales tax, and e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon Seller Central)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or NetSuite; advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
- High attention to detail, analytical problem-solving abilities, and clear communication
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and proactively contribute to business decisions
