Description:
We are offering a rare opportunity for an experienced Controller to join a mission-driven healthcare organization that is actively shaping an innovative and evolving healthcare delivery system. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and plays a critical part in guiding the company’s financial strategy, operational performance, and long-term growth.
As Controller, you will oversee all financial affairs of the organization, ensuring strong fiscal controls, accurate reporting, and strategic financial planning. This position has immediate impact and influence across company operations and supports leadership in driving revenue growth, profitability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, analyze, and interpret accounting and statistical data to evaluate operating results, profitability, budget performance, and overall financial health
- Maintain and oversee the company’s accounting systems, books, records, and financial assets, including evaluation of appropriate financial platforms such as QuickBooks
- Manage and coordinate all financial audits, including insurance audits and annual external audits
- Prepare year-end financial statements, schedules, and documentation for external auditors
- Support external accountants with tax planning and compliance for federal, state, local, payroll, and other applicable taxes
- Evaluate and recommend insurance coverage, including Directors and Officers liability and other risk protection needs
- Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with state and local sales and use tax requirements
- Assist in developing pricing proposals to support sales and market initiatives
- Oversee billing, invoicing, and revenue cycle activities
- Lead monthly close processes, audits, tax preparation, and general accounting operations
- Supervise the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements and management reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience as a Controller or in a comparable leadership role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Successful completion of reference and background checks
