Join Lifeway Christian Resources as a Content Editor
Lifeway is seeking a skilled and dedicated Content Editor to join our mission-driven team, editing and developing products that ensure trustworthy, biblically sound content aligned with Scripture, the Baptist Faith & Message, and conservative evangelical theology. This role leads substantive editing and original content creation across print, digital, and multimedia formats, strengthening clarity, accuracy, and instructional design while fostering meaningful Bible study experiences and church engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold Lifeway’s mission and values, demonstrating deep commitment to Kingdom work
- Lead substantive editorial work ensuring theological accuracy and alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message
- Edit and refine content for clarity, tone, instructional design, and consistency across multiple formats
- Develop original content and contribute to structured Bible study resources and frameworks
- Collaborate with ministry leaders, contract writers, and internal teams to create engaging, biblically sound content
- Provide coaching and feedback to contributors, ensuring theological alignment and effective communication
- Apply Lifeway style and grammar standards, review appraisal feedback, and enhance readability
- Participate in content planning meetings and support ongoing training for editors and writers
- Conduct research to validate biblical, theological, or contextual accuracy as needed
- Contribute to podcast content creation and participate as a guest when appropriate
- Support process improvements and team goals through cross-functional collaboration
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in theology, Christian education, or related field (Doctorate not required)
- Minimum 6 years of editorial or content development experience
- 5+ years of ministry-related experience (church staff, teaching ministry, denominational involvement, etc.)
- Experience developing Bible study resources or curriculum in a ministry-focused environment
- Proven excellence in advanced editing to ensure theological accuracy, clarity, and instructional design
- Strong skills in original content creation, manuscript editing, and adapting submissions to audience needs
- Proficiency in collaboration, author coaching, and relationship-building
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, navigating theological discussions with clarity and grace
- Knowledge of digital publishing tools and content production workflows
- Experience mentoring and supporting junior editors and peer contributors
- Ability to travel 2–4 times per year for team meetings in Tennessee or other events
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading writer training, contributing to content strategy, or shaping instructional design frameworks
