Description:

We are seeking a Collections Specialist to join our team in Pittsburgh to ensure timely reimbursement by working with insurance companies, patients, and medical providers to resolve claim issues efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Utilize multiple software systems to follow workflow processes and ensure timely follow-up on claims
- Contact patients, physician offices, and insurance companies to obtain necessary documentation and information
- Resubmit claims when initial submissions are rejected or not received
- Correct and submit claims using HCFA 1500 forms
- Write appeals to overturn denied or incorrectly paid claims
- Resolve credit balances and write-offs through refunds, adjustments, or other methods
- Communicate reimbursement issues to leadership promptly
- Monitor and manage assigned accounts to resolution
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Required/Preferred Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required
- 2+ years of experience in medical revenue cycle or similar environment preferred
- Solid understanding of HCFA 1500 claim forms
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows software
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask with keen attention to detail
- Fast learner with adaptability to daily challenges
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
- Must occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds
