Description:

We are seeking a Collections Specialist to join our team in Pittsburgh to ensure timely reimbursement by working with insurance companies, patients, and medical providers to resolve claim issues efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Utilize multiple software systems to follow workflow processes and ensure timely follow-up on claims
  • Contact patients, physician offices, and insurance companies to obtain necessary documentation and information
  • Resubmit claims when initial submissions are rejected or not received
  • Correct and submit claims using HCFA 1500 forms
  • Write appeals to overturn denied or incorrectly paid claims
  • Resolve credit balances and write-offs through refunds, adjustments, or other methods
  • Communicate reimbursement issues to leadership promptly
  • Monitor and manage assigned accounts to resolution
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Required/Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required
  • 2+ years of experience in medical revenue cycle or similar environment preferred
  • Solid understanding of HCFA 1500 claim forms
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows software

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to multitask with keen attention to detail
  • Fast learner with adaptability to daily challenges

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
  • Must occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds
