Snout is a fast-growing wellness plan provider in the veterinary space, committed to helping pets get the care they need while reducing financial barriers for pet owners. We are seeking a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our small but dynamic startup team remotely from the USA (Texas, Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia). This role is critical to building and improving our collections function, increasing recovery rates, and maintaining a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Contact past-due clients, request payment, and negotiate repayment plans while ensuring a positive client experience
• Send follow-up communications including reminders and demand letters to delinquent accounts
• Accurately document account activity, including balances, due dates, call notes, and next steps
• Develop and improve collections processes, standards, and performance metrics
• Analyze delinquency trends and recommend strategies to reduce defaults
• Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline collections workflows and enhance efficiency

Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of collections experience
• Strong customer service skills, both verbal and written, including phone and email etiquette
• Ability to assertively handle difficult conversations while maintaining a positive client impression
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
• High emotional intelligence and empathy
• Comfortable using technology such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Slack, Notion, Linear, FreshDesk, etc.
• Home office setup with reliable internet, webcam, and microphone
• Flexibility to work weekend shifts and travel once per quarter

Bonus Qualifications:
• Experience with collaboration and ticketing tools like Slack, Notion, FreshDesk, or Linear
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
